Tarot Cloth
over 4 years ago – Fri, Sep 27, 2019 at 11:59:07 PM

Hello delightful backers!

I am thrilled to let you know that I have designed a tarot cloth to go with the This Might Hurt Tarot deck! This item is available in my online store here for immediate shipping.

Image shows tarot cloth on a white background. Cloth is black with white screen printed art. Art shows two snakes eating each other's tails, surrounded by pomegranate florals. In the center of the design is a white circle with a knife and wand crossed on top of it. In the right and left quadrants of the center circle are a cup of coffee, and a stack of coins with pentagrams carved into them.

The cloth is screen printed white on a black cotton cloth and can be laid flat to used for readings or worn as a bandana. The center design features the four symbols of the suits (cup, knife, wand, and pentacles) while the edges depict double ouroboros snakes curling through pomegranate florals. The ouroboros is a symbol associated with This Might Hurt Tarot and the cyclical nature of life, while the pomegranates link the cloth to the veil behind the High Priestess.

Each cloth is screen printed in white on a black cotton bandana. Screen printing is not an exact process, so please forgive minor imperfections in the print. Each print will be slightly different from one another, and slightly different from the photo in this listing. Item will be folded for packaging, so you may wish to iron it before use to get the wrinkles out.

Unfortunately, there is no easy way for me to organize a system for you to add this item on to your original backer rewards through backerkit, since all orders with completed surveys have been locked and cards charged.  If you order this item from my online store it will ship separately from your Kickstarter reward. If you are an international backer and wish to have me hold the tarot cloth and combine shipping, please place your order through my online store and then send me an e-mail and we can figure something out! If you are a domestic backer please do not ask for this.

Sneak Peak at the Physical Deck!
over 4 years ago – Wed, Sep 18, 2019 at 11:29:20 PM

Hello sweet backers! I am delighted to let you know that a small early shipment of decks has arrived from the printer! It was an absolute DELIGHT to finally see the deck in person, and let me just say, it looks great! The magnet box, the gilded edges, the print quality, and the thickness of the paper - it's all exactly what I hoped it would be!

I had two early copies of the deck at Small Press Expo this weekend and had an amazing time showing it off and doing readings for folks. It even shuffles well! Plus all my reading were wonderful and spooky accurate, so I'm feeling really good about working with this deck going forward.

I want to be clear: this is an early shipment of decks and I did not receive enough to fulfill Kickstarter rewards. Most of the decks are currently being shipped via a boat from China, a journey which will take them 5-6 weeks. They should arrive a little before October 18th. However, since I was just too excited to wait, I did spring to have a few boxes of the deck shipped to me via air! This early shipment of decks will be sent out to a photographer, tarot reviewers, and other press. If you are interested in reviewing This Might Hurt Tarot and you have not reached out to me already, please send me an e-mail to [email protected] or a direct message via Kickstarter.

Below is further information on timeline and fulfillment. It's all stuff you've seen before, but it's worth repeating!

Timeline, Party, and Fulfillment

Currently, everything is on time for all of the decks to be shipped to backers in late October/November. Decks can be picked up early by backers at the This Might Hurt Tarot Release Party on October 18th, so if you are in Chicago please swing by the event! If you are attending please RSVP to the FB event. We will have Tarot readers doing readings and I'd love to celebrate with you. Backer rewards will be shipped out over the next 2-4 weeks in late October/early November.

But I'm Moving! How Do I Change My Shipping Address?

Have no fear! You are still able to change your address through backerkit right up until I lock shipping addresses in late October. Sometime around October 18th I will lock addresses for fulfillment. You will receive a final warning 48 hours before addresses lock in case you need to update your address last minute. Only after this point, when 48 hours have passed and you have received a warning via e-mail, will your shipping address be unchangeable.

Until then, here is how you update your address:

That's it!

Photos of the Deck from the Printer!
over 4 years ago – Tue, Aug 27, 2019 at 08:56:41 PM

Hello beloved backers!

I could not possibly be more THRILLED to share with you photos of This Might Hurt Tarot sent to me this morning from our printer Shenzhen Wheel of Fortune Printing Co. in Shenzhen China! I am over the moon about how the decks look in these photos. Please keep in mind that the deck has not shipped yet and I have not seen a deck in person yet. All of these photos were taken and sent by the printer. I'm beyond thrilled with how these look and the fact that the printer got them done EARLY! We are wrapping up the last stages of payment and shipping and the decks should ship before the end of this week.

Shipping by sea from China takes 5-6 weeks, so we are right on track for decks to arrive before the release party Oct 18th. At this point, the earliest point you can get your deck will be to pick it up in person at the release party. All other backer rewards will ship after the release party in late October and early November. If that changes, I will let you know. I will be getting a few decks shipped to be early for promotional reasons though, so if you are a tarot blogger or reviewer an you would like your deck shipped early for review purposes, please send me a message or e-mail.

I hope you enjoy these photos! Please let me know what you think in the comments.

- Isabella

Production Update!

Hello wonderful backers,

I'm excited to let you know that the deck has officially been in production since August 6th! The decks are being printed by Shenzhen Wheel of Fortune Printing Co. in Shenzhen China. After production the decks will be shipped by sea to the United States then by truck to me in Chicago! This morning I received some in-progress printing photos from my sales rep., and the cards are looking good!

As you can see, the cards are printed on huge sheets with multiple cards per sheet. The card backs are printed on the back of the sheet. The next step will be to cut out the individual cards to make the decks. I've never worked with a factory for large-scale production on a project before, so this is all very new and exciting for me! I'm excited to see more in-progress pictures from the production team as the deck comes together.

Timeline, Party, and Fulfillment

Currently, everything is on time for decks to be shipped to backers in November, as promised! So if you ordered a deck as a holiday gift, have no fear. It will arrive on time. Decks can be picked up early by backers at the This Might Hurt Tarot Release Party on October 18th, so if you are in Chicago please swing by the event! If you are attending please RSVP to the FB event. We will have Tarot readers doing readers and I'd love to celebrate with you. Backer rewards will be shipped out over the next 2-4 weeks in late October/early November.

But I'm Moving! How Do I Change My Shipping Address?

Have no fear! You are still able to change your address through backerkit right up until I lock shipping addresses in late October/early November. Here is the process: when I am ready to ship orders in late October/early November, I will lock addresses for fulfillment. You will receive a final warning 48 hours before addresses lock in case you need to update your address last minute. Only after this point, when 48 hours have passed and you have received a warning via e-mail, will your shipping address be unchangeable.

Until then, here is how you update your address:

That's it!

Website

I'd also love to remind you that all cards AND card descriptions are available on ThisMightHurtTarot.com! You can view everything that will be in the guidebook here for free. This website is also a very helpful alternative to using the printed guidebook, as the font in the printed guidebook is going to be very small. The font on the website is larger, scale-able, and more legible, as well as compatible with screen readers.

That's all for now! Thank you everyone, and there will be more soon.

This Might Hurt Tarot Deck Release Party!
over 4 years ago – Mon, Jul 29, 2019 at 07:30:38 PM

Hello backers in the greater Chicago area! I'm excited to invite you to the Release party for This Might Hurt Tarot, which will take place on October 18th at Ars Memoria Tattoo and Art Gallery! Please RSVP via Facebook here.

Date/Time: Oct 18th at 7pm
Location:  Ars Memoria, 1770 W Berteau Ave, #506, Chicago, Illinois 60613

This project has been a labor of love and I absolutely did not do it alone. I am so grateful to my community, Kickstarter backers, and every single person who helped this project along in so many different ways. When the deck is finally released, I want to party with my friends!

You can pick up your Kickstarter reward at the party! We'll also have Tarot readers available to give readings or you could test out your new deck with each other! I'm in the process of planning so please keep posted for details in the facebook event as things develop.

Drinks will be available for tips/donation, but feel free to BYOB if you prefer.

Details for picking up your Kickstarter rewards at the party:
 - There is a question in your survey asking if you plan on being at the party. If you marked 'yes,' or 'maybe,' I will make sure to have your reward ready for you.
- If you marked 'yes' or 'maybe' and don't pick up your reward at the party, don't worry about. I'll ship it to you after the party.
- If you marked that you weren't attending the party but plans change and you show up anyway, you can probably still get your reward! We will have plenty of extra decks and pins available.
